The Government of Japan extends financial assistance to the University of Petoria’s Department of Community Dentistry

The Government of Japan, through its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Programme, extended its assistance to the University of Pretoria’s Department of Community Dentistry to the amount of R 123,569.64 for the purchase of dental equipment for their Mobile Dental Unit.

The Handover Ceremony took place on 3rd August, 2009 at 09:15 at the Boschkop Primary School in Pretoria East attended by H.E. Toshiro Ozawa, Ambassador of Japan, Prof. Andy Mogotlane, Vice Principal of the University of Pretoria and Mr. Petrus Masombuka, Principal of the Boschkop Primary School.

The Embassy of Japan believes that this grant will help enhance quality dental service in rural areas addressed by the university of Pretoria through their Community Dentistry Programme launched in 1995.
