Japan extends grant aid for 3169 tons of maize meal to Lesotho

The Government of Japan, under its Grant Aid for the Food Aid and through the assistance of partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is extending the amount of 210 Million Japanese Yen to the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho for the provision of 3169 metric tons of maize meal.

The Handover Ceremony of the aforementioned KR Programme takes place at the WFP Warehouse on Friday, 7th November 2008. Mr. Takayuki Miyashita, Charge d’ Affaires Embassy of Japan, and officials from the Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho will attend the Ceremony.

The Food Aid provided follows on the heels of the Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD IV) resolutions’ where Japan announced its intention to double its Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Africa by 2012.
